| If ONLY |
When I informed my PowerPump instructor that I was pregnant, her immediate response was, "Oh no, so you cannot lie on your back." Not hearing anything like that statement previously, I looked it up.
When on your back, the weight of your front puts pressure on the baby and more specifically the umbilical cord which can cut off circulation to the baby. Apparently, it's perfectly safe during the first trimester but as my first trimester comes to a close, I worry! So, I wake up numerous times throughout the night on my back and have a mini freak-out and move positions quickly. It drives me crazy.
While I know that I can be a little irrational at times, this is all new to me. And I'm tired... :) I don't want to risk anything when it comes to keeping this child safe... I can already tell that I am going to be one cautious mother. One, tired, cautious mother :)
So... I'm tired. Not news, really. But this is what I got for you today. I am open to advice on getting a better night's rest, but other than that, and I can ask is, "Stay tuned" :)
I leave you now with the "Million Mile Stare"... If you're around enough, you'll catch me doing this... A LOT. :)
LOL, AND GOODNIGHT :D

If you don't have a body pillow already try that out. It helps you sleep on your side. They say the best circulation for the lil one is on your left side.
ReplyDeleteYep, body pillows are the best. Also, as the baby grows, you'll have to worry less about accidentally rolling over onto your back...because it will become an epic exercise in logistics to do so. Good luck!!
