The "Dear Baby" Project

With my first child on its way, coming to peace with that fact took time. It usually helps me to write things down, that's part of the reason I wanted to blog. It helps me share my journey, especially things that don't come out so easily.

So coming to peace with this baby, I decided to start a "Dear Baby" Book...

I write to baby about hopes and dreams, fears, progress...a lot of the process that both Austin and I are going through as baby grows. It has really helped me begin to bond with baby, and remind me that he or she is definitely in there (which is still surprising to me sometimes!)

I want to extend the invitation to all of you.  You can write your own letter to baby, or a drawing...or mix tape, whatever you want.  You can tell him or her about your dreams and hopes for him or her... Or tell him or her about their mom and dad (the rated G stories of course haha)...  You can add whatever you like.  I won't even read it if you don't want me to.  I'll add it to the "Dear Baby" book so that baby can have it for the rest of his or her life.

If you are interested in participating, you can mail the letter to me...the trouble is, I can't give you that address just yet, so stay tuned for an update :)  In the meantime, this gives you plenty of time to think of what you might want to contribute :)

Cheers.

  1. Aw, I started a journal for my son when I was pregnant.. I think I wrote about ten pages then life started speeding up and I didn't take time to write in it anymore :/ I think about writing in it now or then.. but when I look at it I laugh at how I wrote, lol, I was only 20 when I had him.

Life starts feeling lightning speed after you have a child (or more!) before you know it they are talking and walking and going to school... *sigh* but it's amazing.
